“Hitler was also left, just a different type of left. Hardcore socialist.”
Notes:
A very idiotic statement.
“No. Tesla is not pursuing AGI (Artificial General Intelligence). It's literally trying to make a car drive from A to B.”
— The case of Musk vs. Altman et al cross examination
Notes:
That contradicted a statement he made less than two months ago where he stated "Tesla will be one of the companies to make AGI and probably the first to make it in humanoid/atom-shaping form"
“Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”
— A deleted tweet (X post)
Notes:
He later apologized, deleted the post, and said that his comments went "Too far". Jury is still out on whether the apology was for lying and making a baseless accusation, or because he revealed true information he shouldn't have?
“Asmon behaves like a maverick ‘independent’, but in reality has to ask his boss for permission before he can do anything. He is not his own man.”
— A deleted tweet (X post) https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1879798348993237046
Notes:
Elon failed to understand that Asmongold's editors work for him, unlike an editor in a news paper. He was called out on that by community notes and ended up deleting the original post. The sources include a Asmongold's response video, with the original post showing there. During their feud, Elon inexplicably revoked Asmongold's verification status on the platform, but it was reinstated later. Also sharing private messages without permission from the other party violated X's terms of service at the time.
“It's mind-blowing they haven't tried to prosecute even one, not even the worst offender on the Epstein client list. They've not even tried to prosecute even one. That's insane. [...] You know I think part of why Kamala is getting so much support is that if Trump wins, that Epstein client list is gonna become public. Some of those billionaires behind Kamala are terrified of that outcome.”
— Interview with Tucker Carlson
Notes:
Guess what happened when Trump was elected.
“At this point I think I know more about manufacturing than anyone currently alive on Earth.”
— TED interview in TED2022
Notes:
He doesn't. People who actually work in manufacturing know more than him.
“Based on current trends, probably close to zero new cases in US too by end of April”

Not even close.
“So we will actually be adjusting tire design and really optimizing the car for a hyper-efficient Robo taxi and at some point you won't need steering wheels or pedals and will just delete those so as these things become less and less important we'll just leave parts just what they won't be there. If you say like probably two years from now we make a car that has no steering wheels and pedals. [..] By the middle of next year we'll have over a million Tesla cars on the road with full self-driving Hardware feature. But next year for sure we will have over a million Robo taxis on the road the.”
— Tesla Autonomy Day 22/4/2019
Notes:
Neither of those claim came true.
“All Tesla vehicles leaving the factory have all the hardware necessary for Level 5 autonomy.”
— Tesla October 19th 2016 Autopilot 2.0 Conference
Notes:
Despite his continued claims for reaching level 5 autonomy very soon, and "next year". As of May 2026, Telsa vehicles are still considered level 2 autonomy. “In ~2 years, summon should work anywhere connected by land & not blocked by borders, eg you're in LA and the car is in NY”

“I’m hopeful that the first people could be taken to Mars in 10 to 12 years, I think it’s certainly possible for that to occur”
— Interview with CNBC
“Probably just Talulah and me. What day/night will be the wildest party on your island?”
